1984, MCMLXXXIV, is the 6th studio album by Van Halen, released on January 9, 1984. This is the final full-length album to feature all four original members, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Michael Anthony. "Jump" was the lead single from the album. It is Van Halen's most successful single, reaching #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song differs from earlier Van Halen songs in that it is driven by a keyboard line, although the song does contain a guitar solo, which was spliced together from multiple takes. "Jump" was listed by The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum as one of the "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll."
