The Go-Go's were the most popular all-female band to emerge from the punk & new wave explosion of the '70s and '80s. Originally formed in 1978, the group featured Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Margot Olaverra, and Elissa Bello. The band's 1981 debut album, Beauty and the Beat, is considered one of the cornerstone albums of US new wave and yielded two hits, "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got the Beat". The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
