Easily the greatest rock band ever, at least according to members and actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black, the acoustic metal and comedy rock duo Tenacious D is an unlikely success story. The sheer charisma, humor, and inspired songwriting of Black and Gass took them from L.A.'s underground comedy scene in the early '90s to their acclaimed series on HBO, a major-label album deal, and a feature film. Tenacious D have released four albums: Tenacious D (2001), The Pick of Destiny (2006), Rize of the Fenix (2012), and Post-Apocalypto (2018).
