The drum and bass trio Kosheen molds something sophisticated and complex, and their hypnotic breakbeats took their native U.K. by storm in 1999. Their style has been described as trip hop, breakbeat, alternative rock, electronic, and drum’n’bass. Kosheen successfully topped the UK and European music charts and won lots of awards with their unique blend of breakbeat rhythms of drum’n’bass to a more traditional songcraft, a side of the band embodied by singer and songwriter Sian Evans.
