Kate Bush's music is an ambitious and idiosyncratic melange of folk rock, art rock, prog, and pop, and her lyrics were artful meditations full of drama, fantasy, danger, and a sense of wonder at the human and natural worlds. In 1978 she topped the UK Singles Chart with her debut single "Wuthering Heights". Kate Bush has since released 25 UK Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits "The Man with the Child in His Eyes", "Babooshka", "Running Up That Hill", "Don't Give Up", and "King of the Mountain". Kate Bush has been nominated for 13 British Phonographic Industry accolades, winning for Best British Female Artist in 1987, and has been nominated for 3 Grammy Awards. Bush was appointed a CBE in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to music and she was nominated twice for induction in the 2018 and 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Red Shoes is her 7th studio album, released on 1 November 1993.
