Dance Gavin Dance formed in 2005 in Sacramento. Their musical style has been described as post-hardcore, math rock, experimental rock, progressive rock, screamo, jazz fusion and emo. Afterburner is the 9th studio album by Dance Gavin Dance. The album is considered a musical progression for the band, as the group experimented with funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore which accompany their archetypal post-hardcore and experimental rock style.
